Blanquita Microlending is Blanquita Foundation's own fair-lending program. We put honest, affordable capital in the hands of rural Guatemalan entrepreneurs — and because they repay, the fund grows and reaches the next family, and the next.
Fund a Microloan See How It WorksFor most rural families, the only credit available comes from predatory lenders charging crushing rates that trap them in debt.
Blanquita Microlending is the opposite. It is a fair, transparent loan fund we run ourselves — seeded by the foundation and grown by the generosity of donors. We do not exist to profit off the poor; we exist to give them a real chance, on terms built around their lives. Every loan that comes back makes the fund a little bigger, so the same generosity keeps working, family after family, year after year.
Blanquita Microlending is one revolving pool of fair capital — seeded by Blanquita Foundation and grown by donor gifts. Donations are charitable gifts, not loans: you are not repaid, but your gift is never used up. It becomes a loan, comes back, and becomes another loan.
Our team on the ground in Guatemala identifies hardworking entrepreneurs — women, farmers, market vendors, makers — who have a viable plan but no access to fair credit. Before any money moves, they complete free business and financial training.
We match the loan and its repayment term to how the business actually earns — a market vendor flipping inventory borrows for weeks; a shop or artisan for a few months; a farmer for a full harvest cycle. One fair, transparent rate. Never predatory, never compounding, never seizing the essentials a family needs to live.
Capital reaches the borrower through our team and a licensed local partner, handled in accordance with Guatemalan law — so funds arrive safely, on the record, and with dignity.
The loan goes to work — seeds and tools, inventory, equipment, a market stall. Our team stays close, offering mentorship so the business has the best chance to thrive.
Borrowers repay gradually on a schedule built around their income — not a rigid calendar. Each repayment builds a track record that can qualify them for a larger loan next time.
Every repayment, plus a fair and transparent rate, flows back into Raíces — so the fund grows roots and reaches more families every year. One gift, planted once, keeps bearing fruit.
Fast-turnover working capital to buy and resell inventory.
Time to build inventory, sell, and reinvest in the craft.
Repayment matched to the planting-to-harvest cycle.
If you live in one of the communities we serve, here is the path from your side:
Our people on the ground meet borrowers within the community. You do not need collateral or a credit history — you need a real plan and a willingness to learn.
You take part in free business and money-management training so the loan has the best chance to succeed — for you and for the families it will help next.
Once your plan is approved, funds are delivered to you with a clear, fair repayment schedule agreed in advance — sized to your business, with no hidden terms.
As you repay and your business grows, you build a record that can unlock larger loans over time — a ladder, not a trap.

No bank account? No problem. Here is exactly how a loan reaches you — and how you pay it back.
Getting your loan: Your loan officer meets your group in the community and hands you the loan in cash, against a signed agreement and a receipt. No bank account or phone required.
Paying it back: You repay in cash at your regular group meetings — the same meetings where you receive training and support.
Getting your loan: We send your loan straight to your Tigo Money wallet. Cash it out at any Tigo agent — a corner store or pharmacy near you.
Paying it back: Repay from your phone, or at any Tigo agent. You register with just your phone number and ID — no bank account needed.
Tigo Money Coming SoonEither way, every disbursement and every repayment is recorded with a signed agreement and a receipt — your loan, on the record, with dignity.
Terms are kept fair and transparent — the opposite of the loan sharks families are trapped by.
We never take the things a family needs to live. Dignity comes first, always.
Repayment follows the borrower's real cash flow and business cycle, not a rigid schedule.
Every borrower gets support, not just money — so the business actually lasts.
Your donation doesn't get used up — it becomes a loan, comes back, and becomes another. One gift, family after family.
